Description
Kynar500 Coated Steel U Standing Seam Roofing Panels
Snap-on batten lock roofing panels, also known as U-lock standing seam roofing panels, are an excellent technology dedicated to residential applications. Through the use of a batten cap, the seams are perfectly protected from water ingress, and the clip system is allows for quick installation of the panels.
Creating aesthetically pleasing and smooth joints, snap on batten roofing panels are perfect for uncompromising roofing projects, especially on contemporary homes. With a huge number of colors and the ability to produce panels as long as 35 feet, it is easy to tailor the roof to the client’s requirements and the concept set by the architect.
When properly installed, our Kynar snap on batten roofing sheets can be used even where temperatures fluctuate dynamically – the holes allow the panels to expand and contract instead of bending or cracking.
By choosing standing seam u-profile batten lock steel roofing panels, you provide your customer with above-average durability and aesthetics, for which you don’t have to take too much money. Thanks to their simplicity, roofing sheets from North Shore Sheet Metals are perfect for anywhere you don’t have time to take care of the smallest details – we’ve taken care of them for you.
Standing Seam Snap-on Batten Panels – Efficiency is a Key
The engineering team at North Shore Sheet Metals is not in the business of creating technology that no one has ever seen. Instead, we strive to refine already known and proven solutions to perfection. As a result, our flashings, metal roofing panels, gutters and fascia panels impress with their quality, while being reliable and favorably priced.
Using the highest quality 24 gauge steel sheets, our snap-on batten roofing panels stand out for their above-average quality and durability. The 0.025” thick stainless steel coated with resin-based Kynar 500 provides up to 60 years of trouble-free service and protects both sheathing and underlayment well. With proper maintenance, perforation of Kynar-coated stainless steel is probably impossible.
Using batten cap instead of snap lock technology allows you to speed up the roof installation process. Batten cap also makes the joints more resistant to water leakage, and gently improves the insulation performance of the roof due to the extra layer of material.
How to Use Standing Seam Snap-on Batten Roofing Panels?
Installation of snap-on batten roofing panels requires the use of clips, which are mounted directly to the sheathing. With their help, you will fix the panels and make it possible to connect them. On the roof edge side, on the other hand, the T-shape drip edge flashing serves as the attachment element.
As with classic steel snap lock roofing panels, snap on batten roofing panels are recommended for use on roofs with pitch of 3/12 or more. Sheet joints using clips are very tight and durable, but theoretically speaking, standing water can get through, flooding the sheathing and underlayment. If the roof is adequately steep, this problem does not occur.
In addition, we recommend that you use a slightly thicker sheathing to install this model of roofing panels. The optimal thickness of it is 5/8“, not 1/2”.This makes the entire roof much more rigid, keeping all the joints, which are sensitive to bending, as tight as possible.
Snap on batten steel panels, like any sheet metal roofing material, are sometimes noisy. However, noise emissions will be much lower if you use a modern synthetic underlayment with increased thickness, which better absorbs vibrations. An additional advantage of such a solution is better thermal insulation, so lower bills for heating and air conditioning of the house.
All of our roofing panels are made from the highest quality materials, which guarantees trouble-free operation for many years. Thanks to the resin-based Kynar500 coating, standing seam snap lock panels will last up to 50 years, although typically, they are replaced along with the roof, so after 25-40 years. Kynar500 provides phenomenal resistance to wind, rain, ice, hail and rust, which justifies its slightly higher price. Add to that, this coating offers tremendous customization possibilities – the standard offer includes 26 colors, so you’re sure to find a shade that meets your customer’s requirements.
