Description
Stainless Steel Roof-to-Wall Flashing

Roof-to-wall flashing, also called sidewall or headwall flashing, seals the edge of the roof. Providing an aesthetically pleasing connection between the rooftop and the wall, it perfectly seals the interface between the two planes. As a result, water does not enter the building, which could develop mold. Stainless steel roof-to-wall flashings are typically used at the junction of roofs and chimneys or other vertical walls extending beyond the outline of the roof slope. To maximize the tightness of the joints, we recommend installation as in the attached diagram. We also encourage you to use adequate caulking – Sikaflex or Quad caulking will give you a peace of mind.
Sidewall Flashing Made of Stainless Steel – Durability for Affordable Price
Sidewall flashings in the offer of North Shore Sheet Metals are distinguished by their excellent workmanship, above-average durability and attractive price. This is made possible by scale – each year, our company produces hundreds of thousands of lineal feet of flashings, gutters and other sheet metal components. Being a large manufacturer of steel and aluminum products, we can compete on price, and thanks to the use of modern machinery, we also stand out with phenomenal quality.
Headwall flashings manufactured in our company are offered in two variants – with and without kick. In practice, by far the more common choice is sidewall flashings, which are used to seal roofs made by GAF roofing contractor Glenview as well as other contractors installing asphalt shingles and cedar shakes. For roof-to-wall flashings with kick, roofs made of steel or aluminum are used.

For even greater durability and aesthetics, our roof-to-wall flashings are made of 304-2B stainless steel that offers solid corrosion protection for a reasonable price. When choosing stainless steel roof-to-wall flashing you buy yourself a peace of mind – there’s no coating that could loose its properties after some time. Stainless steel is simply eternal.
The thickness of the sheet metal we use is also crucial. Engineers employed by North Shore Sheet Metals have spent hundreds of hours selecting the ideal stainless steel sheet thickness that offers the perfect compromise between weight, bending resistance, brittleness and price. As a result, by choosing roof-to-wall flashings made from 0.025” (24 Ga) 18/8 steel you are assured that your customer will enjoy many years of trouble-free use of their roof, no matter where they live.
Compared to flashings sold by the most recognizable vendors, our products are up to 35% more rigid and offer up to 70% longer lifespan. 99.4% of our flashings last at least 30 years in a climate of Chicago.
304-2B Stainless Steel

24 GA, 304-2B stainless steel is considered as one of the best materials available in construction. Durable yet elegant, long-lasting yet affordable. This particular alloy suits perfectly even the most demanding contractors, although it’s not designed with coastal level of salt saturation in the air. When looking for a solid alternative to steel roof-to-wall flashing coated with Kynar 500® PVDF resin-based coating.
Choice of 304 stainless steel is a real investment – it drastically reduces the risk warranty claims due to the leaks forming in the most vulnerable roof areas. Buying a solid stainless flashing makes it virtually impossible for water to penetrate it, while standard galvanized steel or PVC-coated steel may simply fail.
Our 18/8 steel roof-to-wall flashings comply with ASTM A792 Standard and is suitable for exterior use even in harsh climate conditions.
Compatibility of our Stainless Steel Roof-to-Wall Flashings
This product is compatible with virtually every roofing material. 304-2B steel is non-reacting material, which means that it’s safe to use it with materials such as cedar shakes, asphalt shingles, synthetic shakes and tiles, natural slate, steel roofing.
