Aluminum valley flashings are an essential part of any roof, used whether asphalt shingles, cedar shakes, slate tiles or metal roofing panels are used. By protecting the roof valley from water running down it, they provide a barrier to moisture that could otherwise lead to rot, mold or delamination of the plywoods that make up the sheathing. The specially designed profile ensures that, even in heavy rain, water is effectively channeled directly into the gutters and downspouts. This is a particularly important feature for the roofs of buildings located in wetter areas of the country.
