Z-closure flashing, also known as screed angle or bent plate, is used to seal joints between horizontal planes at different heights. Used in both roof, terrace and façade systems, Z-closure owes its name to its characteristic “Z” shaped profile.
When ordering custom Z-closure flashings, please make sure to tell us the correct dimensions in the comments at checkout. When selecting a “Custom 8”“ product, the sum of the dimensions must be 8”, for “Custom 12”“, the sum of the dimensions must be 12”, and so on.
Engineers employed by Northshore Sheet Metals spent many hours developing the ideal z-closure flashing design. As it turns out, designing the ideal profile of curves and angles is not that simple – the standard 90° does not guarantee optimal water runoff, as water droplets tend to collect in corners and crevices, which over time, can lead to leaks, completely defeating the purpose of installing 304-2B screed angles.
